Current Event Final

The house is now very old and it is very had to keep the maintained and buyable when it has constant fixings and problems in that house. Also with the fact that they have lost so much money from the store and struggling because it is now one technical income coming and this house is very expensive and the whole nine. As the fact of getting someone to buy this house is very low at this point because of it's constant maintenance financial difficulties and trying to repair everything is very hard at this point. So the OWANA has a much better at winning this case and their reasonings of keeping that house as a historical view instead of trying to get somone to buy it will most likely happen. Now it is just up to the Labay Family to let go and agree with them to give up the house and move somewhere more civil and reasonable of their pay ay this point.

The University of Texas and A&M have joined forces and have come together to compete for a contract that will operate one of the nation's nuclear weapon lab. They have also included the University of New Mexico, Boeing Co., and the Battelle Memorial Institute. This will all require the groups to persuade the Sandia National Laboratories to let them run their company for the lab's that they want. This could actually work if everyone comes together and has no feuds between them and make distracting disagreements. As long as everyone does their part as agreed on and does the right moves at all times then in no time they will have the labs for their school.

Not only is Cosby dealing with the Sexual Assault charge he has to deal with the charge of numerous Civil Defamation suits from women were brought out to say that Cosby has labeled them as liars with everything they've tried to throw his way over the past two years. His lawyers said that the district attorney from before had promised him to not prosecute in order to increase his chance of testifying in the Civil Court. This is all crazy as to why it is to this day still going, yesi understand at the time she may have been to young to undergo a situation like this but after not being guilty let it go and move on you got your little time of fame now go.

Not only did they end up changing the name, they named a few areas of the campus after other people that have succeeded in major changing of the school in that last decade or so while being at the school. For example, the Kindergarten hall being named after Bettie Mann for her being at the school for over thirty-five years and her dedication there. They also decided to rename the playground and area after Wheeler's Grove and there are a few ither changes possibly coming to the making really soon in the future. They made some of these changes due to the shooting last year in Charleston, SC. In my opinion the changes are fine and it gives it representation of diversity and equity.

There is a high chance of this school going under and possibly having to be shut down for a while or even permanently. All these news reports will also cause a lot of parents and potential students not want to attend there because of what is going on. This gives the school very bad reports and lose possible money that they could be getting instead they are dealing with all sorts of bills from these reports and everything that has happened. In order to get more money and make permanent changes the school is going to have to get some type of better security or do some before hand interviews with some type of test to say what they can and cannot expect from this potential student.

Current Event 5.2

1) First the video camera people revealed a video of what they believed  to be Criner and showed the police. From there it continued on with the Forensics people that used DNA from Weiser and got more stuff to clarify it was Criner. So the Police Department had their Search Warrants to question Criner and what e was doing and had more evidence from the bag that he had. The people that gave information are unnamed because they don't want to deal with the social media questions and attention in that way so they chose to stay out and unnamed.

2) This website creates unfair payment to women who are working just as hard as a man on average hours. They have to work twice as hard and long as a man just to have equal pay but not by much.  They say that women tend to under price themselves which is why they get paid so much lower than the man working in the exact field as the woman. The Hired.com website is being promoted way too much as though its the best site you could ever got to in the whole world. However, its directing women to jobs that they are not fairly treated.

3)McCroy felt as though what ever gender is on your birth certificate then that is the restroom you should be going into. Although if you are transgender that doesnt matter because it is not respectful to the others that are in the restroom.

4)Within one year the number of children suicide bombers have went up from 4 to 44. They say they see the children more as threats instead of an innocent little children. They used the referred term because they said the children more forced or were at an age where they are too young to understand what is really going on.

5) The story about the transgenders using the restroom of which they have transformed into is what caught my attention. I completely understand because what if is all a lie and its all based on lust and getting what you want but not wanting to go after what you want without full shame. Regardless of what you transformed into you should not be able to go into that restroom under any circumstances. Do not get me wrong i have nothing against anyone it is not my job to judge anyone and what they prefer in this world for themselves. However, there should be some respectful limits to a point where everyone is comfortable with anyone.

Who's Who Yearbook

   Isabella Grossling is a senior that has done a great deal of very wonderful things in her four years at McCallum. She has participated in serving her time doing things she really didn't have to do but chose to do because it was something she wanted to do. Grossling has been with NHS and Student Counsel from her Junior to Senior year. Also she has been on the Swim Team all four years of her High School career and she's been in Vocal Choir all her four years here at McCallum. Outside of school she has joined a National Charity League with her Mother that she has been apart of for a few years. Also she is in another Choir that she has been in for seven years for now. The awards that she has gotten for her amazing achievements are most individual awards from her team. Her past four years have obviously been a great deal of ups and downs but of course she got through it with the help of family and friends.

Article Story

   It wasn't a bad story however reading the story gave me a very clear understanding and warning of what is going on. A story like this should never be resented in anyway like that. Any sort of heads up about a situation like that is always a good thing to share with others especially teens and parents so they know what to do and prepare themselves in a place like that. The placement and order of the story is very well done and how it was written is well also. It add details and words of the people that are not only involved but individuals at her school and how they felt about the whole thing. Obviously the story was a little uncomfortable for several people to read but it was interesting to read not because we love to hear about sexual abuse but it gives a great sense of what to do.

Option One:

Steven Glass did a great deal of pretty good sneaky things. No one actually suspected what Glass was doing the whole time and believed every word. The way he did the whole thing made him present the vibe doing things in only the satisfaction of others. Towards the end of the movie you would clearly catch on to what was obviously going on and catch to see it was all clearly just a lie from the get go. Once the guy did all the his questioning to catch Glass in a lie it all really went downhill from there to the point of no real return. Steven really went left when he knew from the jump that he was entirely wrong and that there was no reason to try and return a next day. After his faults being pointed out he becam suicidal and wanted to run away but needed the assistance of his friend which didnt happen so he went on by himself.

Obitaury

Preshusmiracle Elaine Bowser was born November 5, 1998 to Xavier Bowser and Catherine McFadden. She was last and fifth girl of eleven kids in her family.

She fully accepted Christ at the age of eleven and was first a member at Wheless Lane Church of Christ. Preshus then moved her membership to Gildon Creek 3rd Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by her dad.

When Preshus lived with her Grandmother Cynthia Robinson she went to Harris and Bluebonnet Elementary. Once she moved with her dad and step mom she finished elementary at Gullet Elementary and continued onto Lamar Middle School and McCallum High School and Graduated in 2017.

She continued her education at ACC to start on her degree in Business and while doing that her and her mother Catherine started a little side business of Real Estate where she got her practice in and made money to get prepared for her own career. After being at ACC for two years she moved and transferred to The Arts Institute in New York. Finally six years later she had received her Masters in Business and continued to work her way to the top.

As she was in New York she met a man by the name of Stephon O'Brian and they instantly hit it off. After five years of dating he proposed and six months later they were saying I DO and ready to start their little family. The lovely couple had three children: Stephon Jermaine Jr. (Carrie O'Brian) Essence Aaliyah Tatum ( Matthew Tatum) Christopher O'Brian (Brenda O'Brian) where they all had children and gave them grandkids as well.

Preshus was always known as the Celfie Queen and nobody could top her Celfie Game whatsoever. She loved every camera and every camera loved her just as much. When it came time to getting front of the camera she was dolled up and ready to smize (smiling with your eyes) and take action . She watched Americas Next Top Model every season to get more ideas on poses and how to use the lighting to up her game. Until this day you find endless amounts of pictures of her.

Preshus leaves to cherish her memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also loads of nieces and nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles and a few older siblings and in laws.

Current Event Quiz

1)Glenn Hager was asked the question "Is the sky falling in Texas?" He simply replied, "No sir. It is something we need ti continue to pay attention and watch? Absolutely. I would much rather wish that it was in this state than the other 49 states." Severance taxes is when people with interest in oil or gas operations are for that as well.This is extra pay and bills that come out of peoples pay and its already bad enough with all of the ither pay amounts and extra funds bwing taken out

2) Trump feels as though without him apperaing on the debate Thursday thast going to tezach everyone a lesson to not mess with him. He feels as though has a higgher position in this race because he knows how to cut through corners and be in the lead amongst the others that are in the race. His decision of not going on Thusday will probabyl cause him to be removed from the race. Just several days after february 4th will the New Hampshire event that he will also need to attend but him thinking he knows everything and thinking he did something tough he will mist likley be dismissed from that list and he will be sittig at home angry at the world for a mistake he made.

4)UT added the rights of having guns on campus.However a lot of people were not really enjoying that idea one bit. The professor just wanted the students to feel as though they were going to be safe at all times because they had that with them. As of January 1st,, students are allowed the right to carry guns with them with no troubles of anyone.

5) Ken Paxton is a Texas Attorney General and he objected that all refugees should be resetled somewhere else without any sort of ahead time notice. he told that they had moved seven syrians to Houston which was a couple and their five children. Paxton asked them to block all resettled efforts that anyone is doing or trying to do. However that request was rejected because Godbey felt as though they should all be halted for an emergence prder of the flow of refugees. He feared that the amoutn of terrorists would increase by a great deal because it was so many of them.

6)With another victory like that will lead the team to their milestone of wins. So far the girls have been on top of their game with winning and being pretty much unbeatable. Just like every team they have their strengths and weaknesses. They have a tendency to have some crazy turn ups and being a tad bit aggressive from time to time but they overall play well together and know the do's and don't s of the game.

7)I perfered the one in the newspaper. It gave necessary depth and kept it short and simple with details that gave us unknown readers an idea of who this man is. It allowed you be like "oh okay, I get who this is" instead of being confused. The other one was entirely too long and i honestly did not want to continue reading the story because it was just to much going on to want to read in the first place.

Feature Writing

  You always want to include your leads with the interesting stuff and pizzazz to pretty much reel the reader into your story. It is also good to give the reader a misleading direction of where the story is going to end up. It catches their eye to want to continue reading. However as they read the story you tend to buzz off and go into another direction and as they get confused, out of nowhere you direct back to what you were talking about in the beginning. Then you have another method of writing the lead which is just directing. This meaning you start with a very interesting lead that continues on the same subject. Sometimes your lead could be like a movie preview with various parts of what is going to happen within the story to get your attention and make you really want to read the story. Leads like that would most likely be the one to catch a readers eye and make them want to continue.
  The middle of your story is just the time for you to go into a further detail of what is going on. In the beginning you hint around on what your are going to talk about and then the middle allows you put the reader unto to the edge of their seat like a really interesting movie. Have their mouths gaped open and shocked and adrenaline umping all over the place drooling almost. You let them have it, no time for holding it back. Do not and I repeat DO NOT sugar coat anything, spill all of the tea and make another batch to spill more. This is your opportunity to show the readers who you really are and what kind of writer you are.
  Now the part that gets really interesting is the ending. This is the big bang with a wrap. You still have the readers attention but its time to go. You have made it this far, no need to give up now, you are on top and don't allow your reading to put you on bottom with a whack ending. Like you did all this other fantastic stuff and then you end all dry is a serious no-no. You summarize and conclude it all with something short and to the point. Never lead the reader on as if there is more to the story when you are obviously coming to a close that's not right at all. At the end of the day this is like a close on a major business deal like it gets that serious. So give it your all and slowly bring it to an end.

1) "People love to be dropped in to something. We’re a movie culture. We like to see scenes play out in front of us. So when in doubt, always paint a picture with a scene to start anything, any story, any lead, any feature story, whatever. Better to start it with a scene than a declarative sentence."

• No person ever wants to gets a story and just blank read. We chose the book for a reason which was for some sort of entertainment not just to read thousands of words and test our reading level. So as a reader like myself when I read a story or something I like to feel as though  I'm there and I get a feel of what they or that group of people feel.

2)"Sometimes it’s what’s left unsaid that resonates more with the reader"

•  If you leave a reader hungry for more that's good on your part meaning you did something good. You left reader wanting to search and find more to your story or even search and personally find you to ask what happens next and will they be more or will is continue or not. Mystery always attracts a person in so many ways. It leaves them on the edge of their seat eagerly waiting for the rest.

Obituaries

   I give my most respects to the family of Andrew Smith. He was a very young man that possibly had a lot coming his way but he taken away before he was able to see those things. He should be mostly missed because he sent a great deal of wins for his team and did a lot period for his members and fans. However, he should be celebrated for what he has done instead of constantly crying over the fact that he is gone. Yes it hurts that he is gone but maybe what he had done is enough for this world and it was time to move on. He had a great life and did great things so that's worth a celebration.

  I read the obituaries of  David Bowie, Andrew Smith And Glenn Frey.  In two of the three readings they were battling with very hard struggles in their lives. Bowie had cancer which we all know is a very difficult thing to recover from no matter how long of a break or healing time to try to give yourself. Now a days times are getting very hard and we may choose to want ti gibe up at times feelings as though we have no one to turn to for help or even a hug. Frey was battling with a lot of difficult things and health issues. He tried to stay strong for as long as his body would let him. He left this world with a good name lingering behind him and a great reputation at the end of the day.

Bobby Hawthorne

1. Hawthorne would much rather have his workers come at stories with some facts but more opinonated say in there as well instead of a whole lot of qouates of " he say..." and " she say..". A lot of people get bored and become unintresrested with qoute on qoute saying so they start to tune out the person speaking or just change te channel in general. He just wants to keeo his listeners and viewerws tuned in and  interested with what jhis viewres ate talking aboiut during the time being.

2. As you write a story don't just go at a constant level or stay on the first floor. Like his metaphor, nobody wants to eat the popcorn once it gets cold they throw it away and try again maybe. Well with a story you cant keep the people with reading a story that obviously is not going to go anywhere that's boring so they are not going to read it. Like we do in my house, add some spice and kick to the "popcorn" and i bet you they will read the story until the end. Put the reader on the edge of their seat wanting to skip until the end of the story eagerly wanting to know what happens next instead of waiting. Sp just add a kick and spice and you will be alright
